Dad Appears In Court Charged With Christmas Day Murder Of Baby Daughter

Lee Parker, 33, was charged on Wednesday following the death of six-month-old Aya Parker.

Parker, of Britton Gardens, Kingswood, Bristol, appeared before Bristol Magistrates Court to face the single charge.

No details about the case were given and Parker was not asked to enter a plea when he appeared before magistrates on Thursday.

Andrew Escott-Watson, prosecuting, told the court: "The victim was the infant daughter of the defendant."

Chair of the bench Louise Perkins adjourned the case until today.

Aya died in the early hours of Sunday morning despite the efforts of police and paramedics at a property in Britton Gardens.
