Istanbul Attack: Gunmen 'Dressed As Santa' Open Fire At Nightclub In Turkey

Gunmen have attacked a famous nightclub in Istanbul during New Year's Eve celebrations, reportedly injuring scores of people, local media reported.

Two attackers were reportedly dressed on Santa costumes, according to CNN Turk, when they opened fire on the Reina club in the Besiktas area of the city.

TV footage showed armoured police vehicles surrounding the nightspot as ambulances rushed to the scene.

Turkey has been the target of a number of recent attacks by Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) and Kurdish extremist groups.
