Arsenal Boss Arsenal Wenger Shows He Still Loves Jack Wilshere Ahead Of Bournemouth Clash

Arsene Wenger has admitted he’s glad his Arsenal side don’t have to face Jack Wilshere when they head to Bournemouth on Tuesday evening.

Wilshere has greatly impressed during his loan spell with Eddie Howe’s side this season but Premier League rules state mean the 25-year-old is unable to go up against his parent club at Dean Court.

While admitting that there were no updates over Wilshere’s contract at the Emirates, Wenger confirmed that he had been in contact with the England midfielder.

‘No [there are no updates] but it was his birthday (on New Year’s Day). I sent him a message,’ Wenger said.

The Gunners manager went on to reveal that he’s relieved a rejuvenated Wilshere will not be in the Cherries’ team after a barnstorming start to the campaign.

He added: ‘The good news is Jack Wilshere will not play (on Tuesday).

‘But he is still good enough to give any team problems.’
