BREAKING: Syrian Man 'Carrying A Bomb Screams Allahu Akbar' In Major Turkey Airport
The man was going through security checks in the outbound terminal at the Antalya Airport when he reportedly screamed: “I have a bomb on me.”
He was detained by police and airport security following the threat, according to CNN Turkey.
Panicked passengers watched on as police and airport security officers detained the man around 9.55am local time (7.55am GMT).
An eyewitness told NTV the man was caught while attempting to pass his luggage through the X-ray machines.
He told security officals he was carrying a bomb and shouted "Allahu Akbar" – meaning God is great, reports say.
The eyewitness told the local media website the suspect mentioned "work with the terrorists".
The suspect, who has not been named, has been removed from the airport and taken to a police station, NTV reports.
He has been described as "mentally unbalanced", according to CNN Turkey.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident at the airport, 13km northeast of Antalya.
